Genesis 47:30-31

³⁰but when I rest^[a] with my fathers, carry me out of Egypt and bury me in their burial place.” Joseph^[b] said, “I will do as you say.”

³¹Jacob^[c] said, “Swear to me that you will do so.”^[d] So Joseph^[e] gave him his word.^[f] Then Israel bowed down^[g] at the head of his bed.^[h]

The LXX reads the word as מַטֶּה (matteh, “staff, rod”) and interprets this to mean that Jacob bowed down in worship while leaning on the top of his staff. The LXX reading was used in turn by the writer of the Letter to the Hebrews (Heb 11:21).
